It is well-established that data\nsuch as this can be reliably modelled using zero-inflated or\nhurdle distributions, both of which may be applied using hurdlr\nfunctions. Bayesian analysis methods are used to best model\nproblematic count data that cannot be fit to any typical\ndistribution. The hurdlr package functions are flexible and\nversatile, and can be applied to varying count distributions,\nparameter estimation with or without covariate information, and\nare able to allow for multiple hurdles as it is also not\nuncommon that count data have an abundance of large-number\nobservations which would be considered outliers of the typical\ndistribution. In lieu of throwing out data or mis-specifying\nthe typical distribution, these extreme observations can be\napplied to a second, extreme distribution. With the given\nfunctions of the hurdlr package, such a two-hurdle model may be\neasily specified in order to best manage data that is both\nzero-inflated and over-dispersed.", "Date": "2015-11-16",
